EQUIPMENT DETAILS
Location: Cape Town
Description: The Polar Simulation Lab is equipped with an environment simulation chamber that has temperature and light control which enables the user to run temperature and light dependent experiments. The simulation chamber is also equipped with cameras to enable remote monitoring of experiments. The lab currently has a 300 L tank installed that can be used for ice growth experiments. Note: the lab is not limited to ice growth experiments only.
Notes: Use of this laboratory is booked as dedicated time slots which are dependent on ongoing availability and use. Prior to approving requests, potential users will need to consult with the lab coordinator about their intended use of the facility. This laboratory is located at the University of Cape Town and any use will happen on site only (this lab cannot be installed for use aboard the S.A. Agulhas II). Users of the lab are required to undergo training and assessment prior to using the lab.

Please also download and complete the Asset Loan Request Form and email it to Riesna Audh within two working days of submitting the online request. If the completed Asset Loan Request Form is not received within this timeframe, the reservation will be cancelled and the item will be made available for requests from others.
